Terms of Service

Draft pending legal review

Sections describing how the product behaves are accurate. The commercial terms — governing law, liability, refunds — are placeholders and must be set by a lawyer before this is published.

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Baseerah. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a firm, you confirm you have authority to bind that firm.

What the service does

Baseerah scores startup investment opportunities against an investment thesis you write, and generates written analysis, investment committee memos and pass emails. Optionally it reads pitch-deck attachments from a mailbox you connect.

The output is not investment advice

This is the most important clause on this page. Screening scores, memos, risk lists and recommendations are generated by a large language model from the information you supply. They are decision support, not advice, and not a substitute for your own diligence.

Language models make mistakes. They can misread a document, miss context, and state incorrect things confidently. Verify anything that matters before acting on it. You remain solely responsible for your investment decisions and their outcomes. We make no representation that any output is accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose.

Your account

Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly at security@baseerah.dev if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account, including activity by team members you invite to a seat.

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and you may not use the service if applicable law bars you from doing so.

Your content

Decks, notes, theses and everything else you upload remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you: to store your content, and to transmit it to the processors listed in our Privacy Policy so they can extract text and produce the analysis you asked for.

We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not sell it.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Pitch decks are usually confidential; sharing them with a screening tool is your call to make, and you are responsible for having the right to make it.

Connected mailboxes

Connecting a mailbox is optional. Access is read-only and limited to messages carrying a pitch-deck attachment. Disconnect at any time from Settings, or revoke access directly through your Google account. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is read and stored.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Connect a mailbox you are not authorised to access.
  • Upload material you have no right to share.
  • Attempt to breach the service, access another customer’s data, or circumvent plan limits.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without a written agreement with us.
  • Use the service unlawfully, or to build a directly competing product.

Plans, seats and screening limits

Paid plans are billed in advance through Polar and renew automatically until cancelled. Each plan includes a number of seats and a number of screenings per billing period; the current figures are shown on the pricing page and in the product. Reaching your screening limit stops further screening until the period rolls over or you upgrade. Existing data stays accessible.

Cancel at any time from the billing page. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We depend on third parties — Supabase, Microsoft Azure, Google and Polar — and an outage at any of them may interrupt the service. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before removing something you materially depend on.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law, and will tell you why unless legally prevented. On termination your right to use the service ends; deletion of your data follows the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

[Placeholder for legal review: warranty disclaimer, liability cap, indemnity, and the carve-outs your jurisdiction requires. Note that consumer-protection law in some countries limits how far these can go.]

Governing law

[Placeholder for legal review: governing law and jurisdiction for disputes.]

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the product or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the revised terms.
